Newsflash – Visas for Spouses of Permanent Residents Now Current Under August 2013 Visa Bulletin
The priority date for visa category F2A (spouses and children of permanent residents) is now current under the August 2013 visa bulletin released today by the Department of State. The category is expected to remain current for the next several months in an effort to increase demand among applicants. F2A individuals, who usually face a backlog of two to four years, may now apply for permanent residence status without having to wait. Together with applications for permanent residence, spouses of permanent residents may also apply for work and travel authorization.
The EB-2 priority date for India also advanced by several years to January 1, 2008.
